Business lending is technical. Building a business is personal. The Business Loan Vault brings both sides together.
Kaylan Pepin
Kaylan brings experience from both commercial banking and building a business. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), he worked in business lending at RBC, CIBC and BDC, where he focused on financing technology companies.
That background spans financial analysis, loan structuring and the practical questions business owners face when raising capital. He also writes about venture debt and startup financing, helping founders understand how debt fits alongside equity and the cash their businesses generate.
At The Business Loan Vault, he brings that lender’s perspective and founder’s experience to a straightforward goal: help business owners understand their options and approach financing with a clearer plan.
Shane brings commercial lending, partnerships and operations experience to The Business Loan Vault. He spent seven years at BDC, working with small and mid-market businesses across technology, manufacturing and professional services.
His lending work included building business portfolios, structuring financing and working with referral partners such as accountants, lawyers and financial advisers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Victoria, with a business minor and finance option.
Shane’s perspective connects the financing file to the business behind it: understanding the purpose of the capital, preparing useful information and helping the next conversation move forward.
Roman brings a background in physics, machine learning and software engineering to The Business Loan Vault. His experience includes data engineering and building software for technology startups.
His technical perspective centers on how complex information can become useful: how data is organized, how systems connect and how software can make a process easier to follow.
For the Vault, that means bringing engineering thinking to the funding journey, connecting clear information with an approachable experience while keeping business owners in control of their next step.
A business owner should be able to understand a financing offer, prepare a useful application, and ask a real person for help. Without feeling lost in the process.
The Business Loan Vault brings business loan education, a direct application and optional broker support together. We help business owners understand their options and prepare to pursue capital.
